UK DRIVING RULES AND REGULATIONS
Before you can legally learn to drive in the UK you must fulfill the following criteria:
Be at least 17 years old.
Hold a signed valid provisional driving licence.
Be able to read in good daylight (with glasses or contact lenses, if you normally wear them), a motor vehicle number plate at 20.5 metres (about 67 feet) or with the newer style number plate at 20 metres (66 feet).
Be medically fit to drive.
You must be supervised by a person who is - at least 21 years of age, and holds a full EC/EEA licence for the category of vehicle being driven, and has held that licence for three years.
You must wear a seat belt, unless exempted, and make sure that all seat belts their anchorages and fittings in the vehicle are free from obvious defects.
Be aware of the legal requirements to notify medical conditions which could affect your safe driving. If a vehicle has been adapted for a disability, ensure that all the adaptations are suitable to control the vehicle safely.
